At Portreath Surf School, they have a host of different options for a fun-filled time in the sea. Try your hand at surfing with safe and fun surfing lessons led by qualified expert instructors with over 30 years of experience.
Their lessons can be tailored to all levels of ability, from complete beginners all the way to more advanced riders looking for some extra coaching, and all kit is provided.

Surfing/Kayak Hire
Maybe surfing is not your game? They have bodyboards, stand-up paddle boards and even superb snorkelling equipment that can all be rented out.
Love Riding The Surf?
Portreath Surf Beach has consistent surf, is great for learning, and is one of the quietest spots in Cornwall!
There are lots of awesome places to surf around the resort, from Portreath where we’re based to Gwithian and Hayle. St Ives, Newquay, Perranporth, Praa Sands, Polzeath and Constantine are all within a drive away from the resort and are world-renowned for their waves.
If you know your aerials from your barrels and your rash guard from your neoprene, you’ll know what you’re doing when it comes to catching a gnarly wave or two. Stay with us and enjoy some serious surfing time at Fistral Beach just a 25-minute drive away. Porthmeor Beach in nearby St Ives is another surfing hot spot and Sennen Beach in Penzance is also popular.
Our large lodges are the perfect base for anyone who fancies exploring Cornwall on a bicycle, whether you’re a pro looking for some challenging terrain or you just want to enjoy a casual cycle ride.
We can organise bike rental for all the family, including helmets and other safety gear and have everything delivered directly to your lodge. Children, adults and extra equipment for dogs or little ones to travel in while the adults cycle is also available, plus tandems for explorative couples and stabalisers for children.
You don’t have to explore the coast on two feet – why not hop onto a bicycle and cover a lot more distance quickly and easily. There’s lots of flat ground and pathways that are perfect for cycling, with the nearby Tehidy Woods and Portreath offering the perfect cycling scenery on your doorstep.
The Track is located a few minutes down the road from the resort. It is a safe and exciting place to ride for all ages and abilities. They provide a fun, friendly, socially inclusive riding environment with experienced staff and with lots of track to explore for people of all ages.
