Introducing Our General Manager: Kyle Robertson

Springwood is an absolute gem of a holiday park. Its combination of breathtaking Scottish Borders location just a short stroll from historic Kelso teamed with beautiful grounds and new facilities make it a truly blissful escape. But the Springwood wouldn’t run quite as smoothly as it does without the incredibly important efforts of our General Manager, Kyle Robertson.

Let’s find out a little more about him…

A Scottish Journey: Kyle’s Roots and Musical Passion

Kyle was brought up on the Isle of Arran on the west coast of Scotland. He went on to study accountancy at university, qualifying as an accountant in 1984. A surprising fact about Kyle is that he joined a reggae band at university, singing and playing guitar. He was still touring with the band right up until 3 years ago! Did you catch Kyle on any of his tours?

Kyle is a massive people person, which is what drew him away from office-based roles and towards business development, including positions for large companies such as St Gobain and Story Homes.

Family Passion for Caravans: Kyle’s Path to General Manager

He later decided to move into the holiday park business because both of his sons loved caravans so much. This led him into his first general manager role for holiday parks in the Borders region. Kyle went on to manage and develop a number of holiday and residential parks for different holiday park groups, including overseeing the building of two new parks in Dumfries and Galloway, before joining us here at Cove in Springwood.

Embracing Nature’s Beauty: Kyle’s Love for Springwood

Springwood is a stunning park immersed in nature, which was an instant attraction to Kyle. He loves the idea of building a business around big, green spaces and working within a natural environment.

What Makes Springwood A Great Holiday Location, Kyle?

“Springwood is simply unique – in total harmony with nature. The sound of the River Teviot where salmon jump calmly rolling past, the views of deer, birds and the plethora of wildlife – it’s truly an environment to rest and contemplate life. The atmospheric, landscaped hills within the spacious grounds give everyone a sense of peace. It’s a one-of-a-kind quiet natural habitat for new owners and guests to treasure – and always with a warm Scottish welcome.”

A Historical Touch: Kyle’s Fascination with Kelso

“In 1715 and 1745 Jacobite armies passed through Kelso; Bonnie Prince Charlie’s horse is supposed to have cast the shoe that is visible in Roxburgh Street.”

A massive thank you to Kyle for everything that he does for us at Springwood – we don’t know what we would do without him.
