Go Cove Adventure Activities at Drimsynie

We’re excited to be bringing you some exciting new bookable outdoor pursuits at Drimsynie Holiday Village.

Drimsynie is located in such a stunning part of Scotland, and with our new gorge walking, paddle boarding, abseiling and canoe with a view Go Cove activities, you can get that little bit closer the beautiful natural world all around us. You might even spot some wonderful Scottish wildlife while you’re at it too!

The outdoor guru who’ll be running these sessions is Argyll Holidays’ own Scott McNab, who knows this part of the world like the back of his hand and will take you to all the most scenic spots – and get your adrenaline pumping too!

He’s got the very best outdoor qualifications plus a wealth of experience and local knowledge, so you know you’re in safe hands:

  • HND in Sports Coaching (Outdoor Sports) covering sailing, kayaking, canoeing, skiing, orienteering and hill walking and a raft of activity specific qualifications.
  • Scott then gained 4 years’ experience working as a multi activity instructor for the Scout Association in Lochgoilhead.
  • He then established himself as sole trader in outdoor guidance, working all over the UK and Europe as a guide in many activities. In 2020, he created West Coast Canyoning, an ICOPro affiliated Training Centre and provider delivering canyon specific days out and training courses.
  • The following year he took an opportunity as Senior Instructor with the Outward Bound Trust in The Lake District. But Scotland was calling him back…
  • Now he’s excited to be setting up in Drimsynie, back in and around an area that he knows exceptionally well, offering a wealth of untapped venues – and potential for some serious adventure trips!

We caught up with Scott about his love for the great outdoors and our part of Scotland in particular:

“I spent my formative years out and about exploring local hills and woodlands. Most weekends my folks would pack up their tent – which became a folding camper – which then became a touring caravan – and we would go away for the weekend to places such as Ardgartan, Glen Coe and St Andrews. These were our usual three spots for a quick weekend away and I got to explore them very intimately.

We would also have some trips further afield with the caravan, taking in Cumbria to Cornwall and eventually further across to France and Italy. So it’s no surprise that the great outdoors became my chosen career path!

I’m planning to bring some high-octane experiences (Gorge walking/Canyoning) to our visitors here at Drimsynie but to also offer those calm and reflective moments (Canoe with a View/Paddleboarding). It’s a chance to experience a real immersion in nature and the breathtaking beauty we have on our doorstep –  we have a local seal colony, frequent porpoise sightings and slightly rarer minke whales.

We also plan to offer a boat ride down the loch to a peninsular crag venue where we can do some exposed climbing,  abseiling and potentially some coasteering.

Argyll and its coast is wide open for us to explore. I’m here to offer something truly unique for our guests and help make Drimsynie a full experience holiday village.

I love this area and the sheer variety it offers; I look forward to sharing it with the staff team here and giving our customers a different perspective on its scenic beauty.”

Thanks Scott! We can’t wait for guests to join you on your outdoor experiences.
