Arundel

Arundel is home to two stunning landmarks – Arundel Castle and Arundel Cathedral. This charming and picturesque market town has something for everyone, from antique markets, art galleries and stunning landscaped gardens, to eating out in one of Arundel’s waterside pubs, cafes and restaurants.

Must See: Visit the Black Rabbit pub for some hearty pub classics and stunning views across the wetlands towards Arundel Castle.

Chichester

The charming and stylish cathedral city of Chichester is a must-see during your stay in West Sussex. Brimming with history, this thriving city offers excellent restaurants and high-street stores, and is home to Chichester Festival Theatre, which attracts West End transfers and exciting new works. It’s only eight miles from the park and offers the closest rail station to both Seal Bay Resort and Medmerry.

Must See: visit Chichester Cathedral and especially the Bishop’s Palace Gardens where you’ll find 14 acres of landscaped gardens.

Goodwood Estate

The historic Goodwood Estate is conveniently located in the heart of West Sussex, just 12 miles from the park. Home to a variety of famous motorsport and horse racing events like the Festival of Speed and Qatar Goodwood Festival, this is an estate and an experience like no other. Visiting for the day? You’ll find plenty of cafes and restaurants, including their Aerodrome Cafe which boasts indoor and outdoor seating, as well as fabulous views of its grass runway and historic Motor Circuit.

Must See: If you’re an animal lover, a visit to the Goodwoof festival in May is a must. Goodwoof features a fantastic line-up of activities to entertain dogs, their humans and all the family in the beautiful surroundings of The Kennels at the Goodwood Estate.

Chapel Porth

Midhurst

Midhurst is a historic market town boasting beautiful boutiques, cafes and restaurants. This vibrant town is located at the heart of the South Downs National Park and is the perfect place to begin exploring the rolling downs and stunning scenery.

Must See: Cowdray Farm Shop is the perfect stop to get some fresh local produce and an extensive range of meats. You will be spoilt for choice with Cowdray products, with delicious cheeses from their Deli, along with freshly baked bread, cakes and pastries made by their team of in-house chefs and store cupboard choices handpicked by their knowledgeable team.

South Down’s National Park

The South Downs National Park provides acres of idyllic countryside. If you’re looking for walking trails, picnics with glorious views, or a lazy lunch at a country pub, then make time to visit the National Park. It’s only 20 miles from our family resort.

Must See: Visit the Tinwood Estate and take part in a vineyard tour and wine tasting, which are available every day of the year. Fancy a nibble with your wine? They’ve got hampers, small plates, afternoon tea and special food events at select times.

West Wittering Beach

West Wittering Beach is one of the premier Blue Flag beaches in the country. It boasts spectacular views of Chichester Harbour and the South Downs. The natural sandy beach is pet-friendly and offers diverse wildlife and shallow lagoons, making it a great destination for nature lovers and a family day out. The beach can get quite busy, and parking should be pre-booked.

Must See: For avid walkers, try the West Wittering, Snowhill Creek, and West Itchenor Circular. A 1.2km loop trail will take you from the beach along Chichester Harbour. Stop off at The Ship Inn in West Itchenor for a bite, before making your way back down.
